About the Abbey Speaker Series

THE ABBEY SPEAKER SERIES is the signature speaker series for the Program for Public Discourse in the College of Arts & Sciences at UNC-Chapel Hill. Four times each year, it brings experts from different disciplines and fields to campus — as individuals, in pairs or on panels — to foster productive dialogue on timely issues across a range of perspectives. These events are free and open to the public. The Abbey Speaker Series was established in 2020 with a generous gift from Nancy, ’74, and Doug Abbey.

Recordings of all previous Abbey Speaker Series events are available on PPD’s YouTube channel.
